Cuba is home to some of the most pristine and productive waters, not only in the Americas, but possibly in the world. The Parque Nacional Ciénaga de Zapata, declared a World Heritage Site in 2003, boasts crystal-clear saltwater flats teeming with Bonefish, Tarpon, and Permit. It's hard to find a location in the Americas that rivals the richness of these waters. With its ideal location, Cuba is a prime destination for anglers.

Master angler Felipe Rodriguez Alonzo and his expert guides will lead you into the breathtakingly beautiful and abundant waters of Cuba’s Parque Nacional Ciénaga de Zapata and its surrounding flats. You'll fish in skiffs perfectly designed for navigating the saltwater flats.

Beyond world-class fly fishing, you'll experience the warmth of Cuban hospitality, savor delicious home-cooked meals, marvel at incredible bird watching, and enjoy diverse cultural activities, including music, art, and more. Join us for this unforgettable fishing adventure!

FISHING THE INCREDIBLE CIENAGA DE ZAPATA NATIONAL PARK

Cuba is home to some of the most pristine waters you will find, not only in the Americas but in the world. In 2003 Parque Nacional Ciénaga de Zapata was declared a World Heritage Site, home to crystal-clear salt water flats teaming with Bonefish, Tarpon, and Permit. In a single day, a lucky angler could perhaps land all three, completing the Cuban angling holy grail, the Grand Slam! One may also hook Barracuda and Snook! One would be hard-pressed to find a location in the Americas that rivals these productive waters. Cuba's location is perfect!

Daily departures for Ciénaga de Zapata National Park, and the most pristine shallow saltwater flats in the Caribbean. In addition of fishing, Zapata is a world-class birding area - home to many of the 26 endemic species only found in Cuba. Meet master fly-fishing guru, Felipe Rodriguez Alonzo and his staff. Participate in a discussion on the excellent fishing opportunities in Cuba as well as the future of youth fly fishing. Later, fish from skiffs or wade for bonefish and permit.  You'll also have the opportunity to cast for tarpon on Rio Hatiguanico. Overnight: Casa particular in Playa Larga. (B,L,D)

          DEPART HAVANA FOR HOME

NOTE: A portion of the proceeds from every fishing excursion will be donated to master angler Felipe Rodriguez’s Youth Fly-Fishing School in Jaguey Grande, Cuba to support this important endeavor. Felipe is one of the most well-known guides in Cuba, but his recognition isn’t based on his skills and prowess as a fishing guide alone. Felipe started a fly-fishing school in the streets of Jaguey Grande, with students ranging in age from 4-18 years old. According to Felipe, “Teaching aquatic conservation through fishing has drastically changed their lives for the better.”
